Colleague Development & Culture Business Partner - London or Sheffield

Reporting to:

Chief Executive Officer

Background:

Bluestone Mortgages (BML) is a dynamic, credit orientated lending business with over 100 employees and operations out of offices in London and Sheffield. The business is backed by Macquarie Bank, one of Australia’s largest investment banks and majority owned by management. BML is part of a group of businesses which include Fignum (a fintech start-up), BMFI (a motor finance business) and BCF (a consumer finance business).

BML’s strategy is to acquire, originate, fund and manage specialist residential mortgages. Currently the business is expanding strongly, and this has created an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the team and to help develop our colleagues and further enhance our positive culture.

Bluestone primarily serves customers that fall outside mainstream lenders criteria, making it a very interesting segment to serve. Customers are generally credit impaired, self-employed, contract or part-time workers, recent migrants, and those with complex or irregular incomes. Loan purpose is a mix of purchase and refinance, and we write traditional, help to buy, and buy to let mortgages.

The role will be based in Bluestone’s modern office in Chancery Lane, London or Westfield House, Sheffield with regular travel required between the two offices. A portion of time will be ‘work from home’ if desired.

Job Overview:

  • Oversee the programme of Computer Based Training (CBT), ensuring the materials are tailored to BML’s business needs. Ensure colleagues complete the training within the required timeframe.
  • Support the management team with colleague inductions and monitoring of onboarding and oversight of probation activities.
  • Assist the CEO with periodic assessment of resource requirements, including headcount, capability, experience and seniority.
  • Champion the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) & CSR (Corporate & Social Responsibility) agendas within the business.
  • Responsibility for all premises and Business Services related activities for BML including the management of the Business Services team.
