Management Accountant - Dublin

Job Overview:

Working within the Dublin finance team, this role will assist the Operating Finance Manager with the production, development and analysis of the Financial and Management Accounts. 

This will involve working to tight monthly and annual deadlines, identifying and enacting process improvements and taking steps to ensure the consistency and integrity of the General Ledger. As an extension, the role is responsible for Irish Corporation Tax and VAT calculations and will also be expected to assist with  the annual production and audit of the Financial Statements and production and analysis of annual Budget

Core responsibilities 

  • Full responsibility for month end posting

  • Review of journal postings from Trust/Treasury team

  • Communication and monitoring of other finance activities done within the group

  • Calculation and explanation of bad debt provision

  • Analysis and breakdown of P&L monthly

  • Income and expense in-depth analysis

  • Monthly budget variances explained

  • Assistance in preparation of annual budget

  • Assistance in preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Assistance in preparation of board pack

  • VAT recovery calculations and bi-monthly VAT returns

  • Monthly reporting of business performance to Management Team

  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

Skills & Requirements - State Essential and Desirable

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent

  • Experience of managing and owning operational finance activity including cash processing and reconciliation, financial/management accounting and reporting requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Strong task management skills and initiative

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to interact with business units and staff based in remote locations

  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills

  • Good technical knowledge of IFRS

  • Comfortable producing Financial Statements

  • Familiarity with VAT and Corporation Tax principles
